Students in Grade 6+ who are taking daily Exercise will study 18 new spelling words each week (540 total). For each list, there are three dictation sentences available.
The following is a list of misspelt words:Â
• HomonymsÂ
• CombinesÂ
• silent letters; prefixes and suffixes; root words; complex words; vowel soundsÂ
• Often erroneous spellingsÂ
• curricular vocabulary.Â
words with many syllables Included in practice pages are the following:Â
• word meanings (filling in missed spelled terms in sentences, crosswords, synonyms/antonyms).Â
activities with phonetic components and other sorts of word study; editing for spelling.Â
• a spelling checklist with sections to study, write, or spelled each word. The following forms are reproducible: parent letter, individual spelling record, spelling test, spelling list, and spelling record form.”For each list, one or two dictation sentences are offered.Â
